Script Preview   Productions
As is usual in any high school, students express numerous dreams for the future: Monica and Joe begin a romantic relationship; the cheerleading squad hopes for a win at district competition; McKenzie and Jim get help from Rita to try to succeed on an upcoming poetry test. These plans are interrupted, though, by mysterious representatives from the R.C.C.—the Reality Check Commission. These very business-like characters issue summons to a mandatory meeting: Be there or else! At the meeting, the R.C.C. reveals its agenda, to save students from wasting time and energy on pursuits that will not come to fruition. Dreams are dashed, hopes are squelched, but it's all for the good of the students. Or is it? “Reality Check” is a funny but thought-provoking commentary on our results-driven society.
