What sparked the idea for this play?
I wanted to write a comic but thought-provoking play about how rumors spread. By putting it into the context of familiar fairy tales, the play becomes both fantasy and moral lesson.

Silly, entertaining, thought-provoking.

Which character was the most fun to write and why?
The dwarfs. I love writing bits of dialogue for a group of characters.

Is there a moment in the play you especially love seeing in rehearsal or performance?
The revelation of the truth near the end of the play.

What’s something directors should know before staging this play?
There are a lot of characters/actors in the play so the pace must be brisk or the script becomes tedious.

What was the biggest challenge in writing this play?
Finding new ways to portray these famous fairy tale characters.

What do you hope audiences walk away feeling?
Entertained, happy.
