SYNOPSIS: The classic play by Euripides gets a unique face-lift in this "act and a half" adaptation. The story is retold by a chorus of performers who "wake up," assemble the stage, perform the play, and then disassemble the set. Includes a unique prequel depicting the voyage of Jason and the Argonauts (with some memorable sight gags involving a "dragon" and a "How's my sailing?" bit.) The original tried and true plot is, of course, followed closely, though the typically choral commentary is expressed through the characters of the "White" and "Black" choruses, each of whom serves the dual function of observer and participant in the story. Features a simple set, flexible casting (outside the principals) and brisk pacing.
