SYNOPSIS: During a freak power surge, agoraphobic college student, Alice, gets catapulted into the Internet! On her quest to return home, she is mistaken for a programming bug and pursued through the Internet by stern-faced Firewalls. Her first stop is FaceBook...er...FaceLook, where she is presented with a zany group of “friends she might know.” Just as a Popup message befriends her, the Firewalls arrest Alice and whisk her off to the Recycle Bin. Surrounded by Spam, old apps, and bugs, Popup helps her discover her User powers and she meets Cookie, the spy, who helps her escape. Together, the new friends race against time to find Mom (Motherboard) and Pops (Operating System) at an Internet party where she meets Giggle, Youhoo, YouTuba, Tweakers and even an obsolete hippie app! Alice finally does return home – to a surprise birthday party – and a little more comfort in dealing with people. A humorous romp through the Internet, this one-act comedy uses a simple, multi-use set and allows an easily expanded cast with new Internet characters if you desire.
