SYNOPSIS: Ellie sits with her friends, watching a football game on a cold, fall afternoon. What could be more normal? Slowly, though, Ellie's reality shifts. Despite the Narrator's warnings, she begins to see what her friends cannot: They are all part of a play. What's more, once Ellie's perception has changed, she can never return to her old existence. She must become a narrator herself. Comic, intriguing and suspenseful, “One Cold Afternoon” uniquely explores the nature of contemporary life.

"We performed this with a Middle School Cast and took it to our regional play festival, where we earned many awards, including top Ensemble award. Everyone enjoyed this thought-provoking and often humorous (because of our particular Narrator) piece. We used extremely simple staging elements - wooden boxes for bleachers. Wardrobe was simple - winter clothing in a chosen color palette for the fans and dark suit for our Narrator. The focus was the story. Our 'fans' did an excellent job of freezing, and our Narrator lent a Twilight Zone vibe. The stage pictures and contrast between crowd and Narrator 'zone' were striking."
