SYNOPSIS: A modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland.” It is also, more importantly, an exploration of the drug problem prevalent among youth today. The majority of the play is Aly's first, and last, drug trip; the play is her drug-induced hallucination personified by characters and scenes from Carroll's novel. After arguing with her parents about attending a rock concert, Aly rushes out of the house to go to Wonderland (a corporate amusement park) where the concert is being held. By the second scene, it is apparent that we are not at Wonderland, but are now witnessing Aly's hallucinations after taking some drugs at the show. We are then introduced to a number of bizarre characters, including Bunnyman (one of the band members), Tommy and Timmy (the band's managers), Mr. H.D. Chips (the tour promoter), Cat (a ticket scalper), and the Hat Man (a drug dealer). This scene is followed by an absurd trial where Aly is found guilty of drug abuse.

"Thank you so much for this great play!!! It offers many great roles for all the actors. We not only won state with this play - the whole cast received superior acting awards! It is a challenging play with numerous creative opportunities and the students loved every minute of it. There aren't many smart, creative one-acts out there like Through the Mirror, this truly is a diamond. Thank you!"
