SYNOPSIS: August, 1987: the last summer of camp for sixteen hopeful soon-to-be ninth-graders. Things are not going as planned--it rains every day, cabin-mates are fighting, and the counselors are nowhere to be found. When a prank goes wrong, it ruins the dance and any hope of a half-decent Color War. This was supposed to be the best summer, so now what? A play about scheduling your first kiss, trying to be the MVP before the competition even begins, and finding the possibility of joy in the worst of circumstances.

Their voices, as heard in "Last Summer" are both goofy, cruel, and compassionate as they struggle to grow out of childhood and into the next phase in their lives as young adults. I recommend it as a wonderful play for both middle school drama programs and professional companies presenting material for young audiences."
