Shirley Barrie
Shirley Barrie co-founded and was Associate Director of the Tricycle Theatre in London, England, from 1972 to 1984 where she began writing for young audiences. After returning to Toronto, Canada, she co-founded Straight Stitching Productions in 1989, and has won two Chalmers Awards for writing (Straight Stitching and Carrying the Calf) and a Dora for best production in Carrying the Calf.
