Laney Roberts
Laney Roberts is the artistic director of Wharf Rat Productions, an independent non-profit theatre company in Salem, Massachusetts. Five years ago she established Grafitti Theatre as a part of the company's outreach to youth in the community. Grafitti Theatre was unique in concept "Kids expressing themselves on stage, not on walls" and sought to develop original performance material for the participating Middle School youth. The performance pieces were developed through improv and dialogue during the year-long program and were focused on contemporary issues identified by the youth involved.
