Kevin Kaufman

Kevin Kaufman is a Los Angeles based composer/writer/producer who recently produced American Twistory (www.americantwistory.com) in Boston at the Comcast Cabaret Theatre with his producing partner Gail Stayden. Together, they are currently developing it for Off-Broadway to open in 2010. They are also the producers of Now, Voyager, the musical, for Broadway, adapted from the same novel as the 1942 classic Warner Bros. film that starred Bette Davis; Kevin is also a consultant on Fun with Dick and Jane, the musical.

As Executive Director of Broadway on Sunset (www.broadwayonsunset.org), Mr. Kaufman produced over 100 interviews, symposia, readings, and productions of new musicals, including two Musical Theatre Conferences at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.

As composer, Kevin's musicals include: The Little Witch of Wichita, eight productions nationally; Jody's Wish ("Julia's Traum") produced at Klecks Jugendtheater, Berlin, Germany; and American Twistory. Kevin began his music career as a pop/R&B songwriter. His first recorded song was a Record World "Pick Hit of the Week" on Roadshow Records (RCA). He worked as an arranger, accompanist, and music director for recording artists and nightclub acts including William Hart of the Delfonics.

Kevin teaches "Musical Theatre Production" at the Academy for New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles and is a member of ASCAP.
