| | | Emma Goldman-Sherman believes in the power of theatre to inspire, heal and give us all a renewed sense of agency. Emma's plays have been produced on 4 continents. She earned an MFA in Theatre from the University of Iowa where she also studied composition and poetry. She received the Richard Maibaum Award for plays addressing social justice, and the Jane Chambers Award in the student division from ATHE for her play, Perfect Women. Podcasts of her work are available online for free at TheParsnipShip.com and PlayingOnAir.org. Emma's work is published by Brooklyn Publishers, Next Stage Press, Smith Scripts (UK), Smith & Kraus and Applause. Emma received residencies at the Millay Colony for the Arts, Ragdale and twice at WordBridge where she returned a third year as a dramaturg. Emma has taught and been a dramaturg at the Great Plains Theatre Conference (2015, 2016), New York Writers Workshop, the New York Public Library, Prison Writes, Alliance for Jewish Theatres and many other places. Emma was the Resident Dramaturg at 29th Street Playwrights Collective where she ran the Write Now Workshop from 2015 - 2021.
