Donald Lewis

Mr. Lewis' plays have received numerous productions, workshops, staged readings and awards across the United States, as well as in Canada and Australia. They've been performed at West Coast Ensemble, Bailiwick Repertory, City Playhouse, Bloomington Playwrights Project, Asylum Theatre, Uprising Theatre, Heartlande Theatre Company, Villagers Theatre, Carmel Performing Arts Festival and the Mackay Festival of Arts, among others. Awards and citations have been given to his work by the Marilyn Hall Awards, FEAT Competition, South Carolina Playwrights' Festival, NAACP Theatre Awards, New Voices in the Heartland Festival, Five and Dime Playwriting Contest, Pittsburgh New Works Festival, Dogwood One-Act Festival and Writer's Digest Writing Competition. In addition to publication at Brooklyn, Mr. Lewis is published by Encore Performance Company. The Chicago native is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, and an alumnus of Columbia College Chicago (BA FilmVideo) and Northern Illinois University (BA History). When he's not writing plays and screenplays, he's warning his teenage daughter of the evils of teenage boys.
