Deborah Karczewski
Deborah Karczewski is best known for writing plays, monologues, scenes, and contest pieces for the high school market. She has taught, raised her male and female children, and currently resides in central New Jersey, which despite the misleading view suggested by its airport and proximity to several large cities, is actually a beautiful melding of country-urban, sheltered sophistication. As a result, her monologues make sense to young people of many backgrounds. Her students have been an invaluable help as well. Their proclamations of "Nobody talks like that" have blended with Karczewski's motherly standards like "I would never let my child say that." The fruit of this collaboration is hopefully a collection of material that feels natural to the actors, yet safe to the teacher and parent. Ms. Karczewski trusts that your young person or student will enjoy her characters as much as she has loved creating them.
