Alaska Reece Vance

Alaska Reece Vance is an Appalachian playwright who lives and writes in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, cats, chickens, husband, and extended family while drawing inspiration from the beauty around her. Alaska's plays have been produced in New York, Chicago, and many cities throughout the U.S. She recently received an Overall Excellence Award in Directing at the New York International Fringe Festival for work on her original musical The Disorientation of Butterflies. Alaska teaches at King University, holds an M.F.A. in Acting, has directed numerous productions with various companies, and is the Founder and Director of The Drifting Theatre.
