Synopsis
13 students calling themselves The Shakespeare Project decide to mount a production of their favorite scenes from Shakespeare, as well as a hilarious Game Show about Shakespeare featuring Mistress Quickly, Tamora Queen of the Goths, and a still soggy from the pond Ophelia. As they rehearse Romeo and Juliet, Antony and Cleopatra, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the real life drama equals and sometimes parallels that of Shakespeare’s scenes. Costume issues, recalcitrant actors, love triangles, and break ups are hurdles the kids must overcome in a fast paced, farcical style. Finally, in the epilogue, they come together as an ensemble. Informative, funny, and full of authentic, original characters as well as some of Shakespeare’s most loved characters, this show proves the adage: “All’s well that ends well.”
