Cinderella's Fella by Craig Sodaro

Type: One Act Play
Genres: Comedy, Fairy Tales
Running Time: 55 minutes
Speaking Cast: 9 females, 5 males, 14 total cast

Sloppy Prince Humphrey has one girl on his mind - his cyber honey, mybelle. The Queen thinks otherwise and hires a fairy godmother to turn her lazy son into Prince Charming so he can find a bride. Meanwhile, Cinderella's stepmother and stepsister are way jealous of how she attracts more suitors than honey attracts flies. Of course, she is the most beautiful girl in the kingdom, though she only has texts for her cyber-hunk. Her daffy siblings hire the same fairy godmother to turn Cinderella into a disaster date so they'll have a better chance at landing a couple of husbands. It seems like a great plan, especially when all the ladies in the kingdom are invited to a dance so Humphrey can pick a wife. The Prince is a dancing fool and cha-chas and jitterbugs his way through every girl in the kingdom, but he just doesn't connect until Cinderella in T-shirt and flip flops enters. Appearances are only skin deep, and true love can see through even the cleverest of Fairy Godmother's spells.

Better Football Through High School Chemistry - Ten Minute Version by Murray Austin

A head coach and his assistant attempt to guide their losing team to its very first touchdown...ever! Can they guide their easily distracted players to the opposing end zone, or will the enemy team's 90 lb. female linebacker continue to terrorize their quarterback?

There's Something in the Air by Jim Gustafson

Type: Full Length Play
Genre: Comedy
Running Time: 100 minutes
Speaking Cast: 11-18 females, 13-28 males, 5 either, 29-51 total cast
Flexibility: 0-7 extras, doubling possible, gender flexible

'There's Something In The Air' takes the audience back to zany days of the Roaring Twenties. As the economy booms, Sally Jackson and Mitchell Burns, a couple of creative fire brands, turn the wacky world of advertising on it's ear, re-inventing the art of hucksterism and radio broadcasting as they go. This fast-paced romantic comedy has loads of madcap, slapstick antics and enough plot twists to keep everyone off balance. While it's not a musical, there are plenty of opportunities for acapella improvisation with the some offbeat radio jingles. When you're looking for romp that's as much fun for your cast to perform as it is for the audience to watch, you'll find it in 'There's Something In The Air.'

Duck's Life by Michael Soetaert

Type: Full Length Play
Genre: Comedy
Running Time: 90 minutes
Speaking Cast: 9 females, 9 males, 18 total cast
Flexibility: 1 extra

What's the big deal? I mean, anybody would rather fly south to Hawaii for the winter, than, say, go just about anywhere. But then, Queen Vula, the Supreme Superlative of Flock 22B, isn't just anybody. And neither is her Grandduck, Chuck. And they're not letting Larry, or any other duck that wants to join him, go without a fight. But, hey, what the worst they can do?

Draft Board by Geff Moyer

The time is March 24th, 1958. Two young farm girls have told their parents that they were spending the night at each others' homes so they could sneak away and take the Greyhound into Memphis to see Elvis as he departs for the U.S. Army. Camped out in a park across from the Draft Board, they have their camera ready. Soon they discover the nasty smells of the big city, and that they didn't bring enough food. And one of them makes an admission that could destroy their friendship.

Draft Board - Ten Minute Version by Geff Moyer

Type: Ten Minute Duet
Genres: Comedy, Drama
Running Time: 10 minutes
Speaking Cast: 2 females, 2 total cast

The time is March 24th, 1958, and two young, naive Tennessee farm girls have fibbed to their parents about spending the night with each other in order to camp out in a park across the street from the Memphis draft board on the morning Elvis is being inducted into the Army. Suffering the unusual smells of the big city, not bringing enough food, and being illegally camped out in a public park in a "not so nice section of town," creates an anixety neither of these girls have ever experienced. While they await the arrival of their teen idol, they discover things about each other that not only surprise them, but could also alter their lifelong friendship.

About Brooklyn Publishers www.brookpub.com
Brooklyn Publishers has been a strong source of comedy and dramatic plays for high school, middle school, and youth theatre for over a decade. Our reputation for powerful, well-written, yet easy-to-produce stage plays has grown each year.

In addition to our many quality full length and one act plays, we offer the largest selection of ten minute plays and theatre books on the market. Our plays have won countless contests and awards and have been recognized for their dynamic plot twists, multi-dimensional characters, and overall strong writing.

Anyone conducting a school drama program realizes the fine line involving the selection of plays to produce. On the one hand, it must be a show that sparks the attention of your students. In today's extra-curricular-friendly schools, there will always be competition for your actors' time and dedication. On the other hand, no teacher wants to produce a 1st-rate show, then face outraged parents, teachers, or administration because of language or content. That's why we provide powerful, cutting-edge scripts that will thrill students and please adults.

Whether you're seeking plays for stage production or drama competition, you've come to the right place to fulfill all your dramatic needs. If you desire play recommendations, we're happy to help you find the perfect work for your school. Our entire staff looks forward to helping you and your drama program have the best year ever.
